  1. In Brazil 2023, I Travelled from the coast Of My state to an little Island In a really small Ferry (I Don't recall the name) The weather was so bad. The ship rocked like 20 deegres Each side. The ferry Did not even have cabins, It only had places for: Seating, A Place to Eat during the smal trip l I Think 20 mins (So it did not Need that). And A Place to bring cars, I Don't know how but i'm immune To Seasickness. But it was almost 20 Deegres of roll Every 10 Second each side. Scary. But somehow i Liked the ride Even with like ALOT Of rocking. Thank god i'm immune to seasickness.

  2. I was on a 5-day Pacific crossing (as a crew member) many years ago, between San Francisco and Honolulu. We sailed through a tropical storm for 3 1/2 days, and with no stabilizers (our ships were old and did not have them). We pitched and rolled, the bow was under water at times and at one point we listed so far to the starboard side we thought we were not going to come back upright. Full capacity of passengers, but the ship looked empty as all were clinging to whatever they could in their cabins, including the toilets as sea sickness prevailed! There were many scary moments on that voyage, but we made it (our ship was old, but she made it through…she was well-built back in the 50's!). I had never seen so many people on their knees kissing the ground when we arrived.

  3. I was in a studio cabin on a Pacific Coastal Cruise where I literally thought I was going to get rolled right out of my bed. Fortunately, we made it through the storm within 4-5 hours and all was well, but…!!!

  4. Last Thursday on the NCL Breakaway, it was rocking just a little bit. I enjoyed it because it brought back memories of being on the Epic in the Mediterranean three years ago. Then on Friday night, it was rocking a lot more. I put on my bracelets and almost took a motion sickness pill to prevent feeling worse, but then I realized I’d be fine if I stayed in bed. It was late at night, so I didn’t miss anything. I knew there was very likely some people feeling ill 🤢, but I don’t know if they had bags out.

  5. I love that music at the end of this video. Just got back from my cruise on Harmony and we had some major creaks and shakes between Aruba and Haiti. The scariest cruise I was on was on Mariner OTS. It was cat 1 hurricane force winds in the Bermuda Triangle with a full moon. 😮 Talk about creaks! We didn’t sleep that night.

  6. We had a rough night on Symphony. My daughters discovered the robot bar could do virgin drinks. Well, one had two many sweet concoctions…
We've had cruises where the outer decks were closed due to wind. It was wild. On a Celebrity cruise, we didn't think it was too bad, but when I sat down in the theater, I knew I couldn't stay. I'm not usually affected! One of the cast members couldn't perform either. There were some puke bags around the stairs but we didn't really make a connection because we didn't think it was that bad, I just thought I was feeling it worse because maybe I had drank or ate something I shouldn't have LOL

  7. 3 weeks ago onboard Anthem, we had to change our itinerary due to Hurricane Nicole and we hit the rough waters on Tuesday November 8. It was really hard to walk around because of the rolling. That night I was rolling while lying down-I have never had that happen. It wasn't unpleasant but it was more than just a gentle sway back and forth.

  8. Big ships do rock and roll 🙂 was on the Sky Princess on transatlantic last month (the puke bags were out everywhere)…the first week was really rough, lovely to sleep in – we had gale force 7 for 3 days. I loved it …

  9. In 1997 I went on a class trip to England. We travelled from Hamburg to Harwich by ferry. It was a horrible night on the North Sea. Our 4 bed cabins had no own bathroom. There were shared sanitary rooms for all the cabins on that deck. In the morning there was no place left that was not covered in vomit. It was digusting.

  10. We have also been on The Wonder of the Seas. It was also rocky. My son thought they might not have been using all the stabilizers, to save in fuel. The bigger ships have never had that much movement, in our experience. Just wondering if not using all stabilizers could be an issue?

  11. I was on the Anthem of the Seas in 2016 on Feb 6th. We got stuck off the coast of South Carolina in a HUGE winter storm with 150 mph wind gusts … it’s all over utube… check it out! I knew I would cruise again… but it took me a few years…I thought we were going to die. Even called our daughter to say that if we didn’t make it back, we love her…
But eventually we got back on! I love watching your videos Morgan. I don’t comment much on videos… but I do love watching you! Thanks for all you do!

  12. I was just on the NCL Joy out of NYC to Bermuda in October. We hit a storm the first night and it was bad. The ship swayed so much that the puke bag holders slid across the railings. Around 2 am the ship listed so much I almost fell off the bed. I heard the next morning that a 30 ft wave hit the boat. I’m not sure if the listing was from the wave or the ship trying to avoid it. Luckily I was wearing my seas sickness patch and it did a great job and the rest of the cruise was smooth sailing. 😊

  13. It's like the difference between driving an 18-wheeler in Wyoming wind and driving a sedan in that same wind. The bigger vehicle will catch more wind. They close the Interstate for the same reason your harbormaster closed the port. Glad things worked out OK.

  14. Wow! If the gigantic Wonder of the Seas was knocking and rocking, could you image the old, smaller cruise ships that only host 2000 passengers?? Why I prefer land, by the way. 🤣

  15. I was on a fleet oiler, USS Sacramento, in the Navy. We were out in the Pacific in a huge storm. The bow of the ship was going completely under water. We were rolling up to 30 degrees. It was kinda scary.

  16. Just had that experience on the apex on our transatlantic, surprised how much creaking and banging was happening . Yes they hung puke bags and asked all the old people to stay put .

  17. On our last cruise on Oasis of the Seas we were heading back to NY from the Caribbean and the last night.. oh boy! That was the worst rocking we've ever had on a ship. I took a couple gravol and went to sleep but there were puke bags at the stairs. The surface area of those big ships.. when they catch the wind can really rock.

We actually ended up having to call maintenance to come fix one of the sliding closet doors as it was broken, and the rocking was making it slide open and slam closed.

  18. Nothing worse than a heavy storm at sea. ( school cruise back in 79 Baltic sea. Gale force 10 🤢)
Was not fun ,lot of very sea sick students
Ferry DFDS from Newcastle to Ijmuiden. The captain had warned before leaving port ,that we could hit bad weather, the sick bags were also getting placed all over the ferry 😢 , Oh boy did that Ferry Rocked back and fore all night. We couldn’t sleep
Plus the constant Noise of the chains on the car / Lorry decks creaking / banging 😱.
We thought this was bad enough, so i feel for any of those passengers on a huge Cruise ship then in “hurricane or Tropical storm weather/ Rough seas 😮.

  19. Depending on wind direction and currents, a large ship could be tossed about more. The wind hitting the side would push it sideways, and if it's gusting, make it roll more.

  20. We're just off the Allure out of Galveston, TX. First two nights were the rockiest I've ever experienced on an Oasis class ship. The wind was so strong, it even ripped one of the sails at the back of the Aqua Theater used to avoid a wind tunnel for the divers. We had only an acrobatic show the night we saw it. The sail did get repaired for some other shows later in the week. It really was some out of control winds! The rest of the week was fairly smooth sailing.

  21. Once while returning to Miami, middle of the night, both my travel companion and I woke up at exactly the same time as we had been tossed out of bed. We laughed hysterially, peeked out onto the balcony and said yup, not going out there. We still talk about that adventure.

  22. On one cruise on RCI Song Of America after we got back from a port day in Porto Vallarta the captain made an announcement saying we will hit a storm tonight, he suggested we stay in our cabins, watch a movie on TV and that room service can deliver our dinners. We went to the MDR for dinner that was only about 30% full, the bars were also pretty empty that night. When I did go to sleep that night I was woken up being rolled out of bed. I had to grab the bed rail to stay on the bed. That was in a small ship by today's standards, 37,584 tons.
