  1. Worth noting: universal pass holders do not pay for parking. Additionally, the passhokder discount of 15% can be utilized nearly ANYWHERE for almost EVERYTHING in Universal, unlike the Disney passholder discount. Shops, quick service, dine-in – even in city walk – all gets that discount.

Not a shill, just find the value very hard to beat, right now. All comes down to preference, though!

  2. Great vid, this is why DFB so good and my favourite go to channel for all things Disney as they focus on everything. As an adult I will be going to both again but definitely feel with younger kids currently I would focus on just Disney because can relax a little more to with those extra few days required for Universal. I do feel as Epic coming and likes of Super Nintendo world this will definitely make Universal a much better place for children and Disney needs to speed up their new themes and attractions as more families will divert there

  3. To be fair, i nanny a 3 year old who has no idea who Lilo is, who Cinderella is, she has no idea who the princesses are aside from Anna and Elsa. Certainly that content is more attainable, but she has only seen a handful of Disney movies in her life. But they have met tons of princesses and she still enjoys herself. No one younger than an older millennial really knows who Betty Boop is and i barely even know. But i still enjoy that section of the parks. Simpsons are still around and kids do probably know some of the characters. But in all fairness, Betty boop and that section of the parks is small when it comes to meeting characters. There’s tons of marvel characters to meet. They know Dr. Seuss. Let’s be fair and not reach for the most obscure characters to meet. There’s way too much content for kids that it’s really not that surprising when a little kid has no idea who Ariel is cause unless mom puts Little Mermaid on, the child’s never gonna ask for it. It’s not like 20 years ago when content was still pretty minimal.

  4. It's a very close call but I prefer Disney slightly more. They have a lot of similarities such as great IPs represented within their parks, unique attractions that offer similar experiences and great shopping and dining options at each of their respective resorts. However Universal does have a little too many screen based attractions (which doesn't bother me if they're done right though), a lot of their rides like Jurassic Park: River Adventure and the queue line for Incredible Hulk Coaster are way too loud and I will never forgive them for closing down Wet n' Wild for Volcano Bay because that was one of my favorite waterparks out there. Although Disney has done some pretty unforgivable things as well such as the retheme of California Screamin' into Incredicoaster or Splash Mountain into Tiana's Bayou Adventure so it's a lot closer than you think between the two and it feels like it's getting closer and closer every year.

  5. I was a 6 year Disney passholder until I didn't feel wanted and was not getting the same happiness and fulfillment as before. Switched to Universal and have had a blast every visit.

  6. I’m planning a trip to Orlando with my sister, so this video was helpful. I’m not really into thrill seeking rides but I love Harry Potter. I think I’m more of a Disney girl 😅

  7. One big reason why I love Disney World so much is the fact that I can actually eat food. Hi, I’m a person with a rare genetic condition (Galactosemia, in case anyone wants to google it). Basically I cannot eat dairy products. I love how Disney has really stepped up their non-dairy, vegan, and vegetarian game lately. I don’t really get that at Universal Studios as much!

  8. Fair warning about the butterbeer!
You CANNOT get spiked butterbeer. Putting alcohol in a non-alcoholic cup (such as the foggy cup butterbeer comes in compared to the clear cups alcohol comes in) can get you in serious trouble with security! It's considered "concealing alcohol"

  9. As someone who just came back from a 2 week vacation with my friend to both Disneyworld and Universal, I have to say I prefer Disneyworld. There's WAY more characters to meet and get autographs from which the only character who does autographs at Universal is The Grinch, Disney has way more rides for people of all thrill levels where at Universal it's all thrill rides except for Dr. Seuss Land, Disney has more food options for adventureous and picky eaters, their app has a better layout too. The Universal app doesn't say what the buildings are so it's very hard to tell where something is or where you are cuz all you see is the roof.

It was my first time at Universal and while we had a great time I feel like we did everything we wanted to do in 3 days and my friend had us stay there for 6. By the end of the week we were just repeating stuff like seeing The Horror Makeup Show 3 times 🙁 I feel like it took forever just to get in and out of the park cuz you have to walk through the whole City Walk area, there wasn't a ton of characters to meet and the app doesn't really say what time they come out or it does but the characters don't show up like it said Shrek and Donkey came out at 5 pm, we waited 15 minutes past 5 and they never showed up and there was no employee to ask what was going on. We were lucky to meet The Grinch twice cuz getting in the virtual line is very difficult cuz it sells out so fast. The rides were too extreme for me but I'm not really a ride person and I got my fill at Disneyworld. The only part I loved was meeting Blue 🙂 the food was ok but not alot of variety especially if you're picky like me ^-^ also the Holiday Parade at Universal was meh, the Cinematic Celebration water light show was cool, reminded me a little bit of World Of Color 🙂

I will say Universal has some really good shows. The Bourne Stuntacular was AMAZING!!!! I just reccomend going for 3 days, 6 is too many XD

  10. I love both but I find that I leave stressed at Disney, Universal is much more relaxed and I’m barely on my phone. I feel like I have to have a minute by minute agenda at Disney to get the most out of it.

  11. Universal is on the verge of DETHRONING Disney in the next few years as the number 1 theme park. (As they should) Due to Disney upping prices drastically and taking away the magic that it once was. Disney World NEEDS this humble smack in the mouth.

  12. If I have to wait in line longer than an hour to ride a 2-minute ride or wake up at 7 am to book rides on the app I have already purchased, then no thanks Disney. At Universal there may be less food offering than Disney, but it is definitely less expensive than Disney for sure. AJ, you got me laughing when you said Universal Express pass is expensive, but Disney Genie alone is already $25 per person. If you want to ride fancy rides, those are extras. Reservation for everything and one at a time, really???? I find Genie+ and lightning lane the stupidest system ever.

  13. Universal has character dinning at the resorts ( minions & Gru, the grinshmas character breakfast is exceptional) and the restaurants have special dining experiences at the portofino, and royal pacific. My kiddo just lost interest in Disney around 11, and fell in love with Harry Potter. This is a bit bias…,Disney has gotten expensive and expensive without giving customers the ability to see it all during the stay. Make lightening lane plans was so frustrating, we gave up. Thank goodness we only lost a day and could head right back over universal and salvage our holiday vacation.

  14. I think the comparison is a little unfair because Universal has two parks (Universal Studios and Island of Adventure) and you’re comparing it to the four parks of Disney (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom). Not to mention the 2:1 Water Parks… So just by mass Disney has an advantage. Now if you would compare for example Hollywood Studios to Universal Studios (as two movie parks) or Magic Kingdom and Universal Studios (as the original parks) that would be a fair contest of the two brands.

  15. Universal is unequivocal with out a doubt a better theme park nowadays. The prices are better, the experience is better, and shocker you stay at a hotel you get perks. Disney is dying due to its greed and that’s fine by me if that means they finally make good changes to bring it back. I do feel sad that I wont be able to see the castle again any time soon but with Epic universe coming up I don’t feel that bad about it.

  16. It’s tricky, but I feel like AJ kind of geared this against universal because she didn’t mention many perks. I feel that the quality of Disney beats universal, but the quality of the experience goes to universal as families tend to leave simply happier or feeling better
