First Impressions: Arriving at Hermitage Bay

From the moment I arrived, I knew this wasn’t just another resort. The open-air lobby, surrounded by lush tropical gardens, set the tone for a serene and intimate experience. The staff greeted me with warm smiles and a refreshing lemongrass-infused towel—a small but thoughtful touch that made me feel instantly relaxed.

The Rooms: Private, Spacious, and Breathtaking

Hermitage Bay offers three types of accommodations: Garden View Suites, Beachfront Suites, and Hillside Pool Suites. I stayed in a Beachfront Suite, and waking up to the sound of waves just steps from my private deck was unforgettable.

What I Loved:

  • Open-air design with a king-sized bed, indoor and outdoor showers
  • Direct beach access—no need to fight for a sunbed!
  • Minimalist yet luxurious décor, blending seamlessly with nature
  • No TVs (intentional for a digital detox—though Wi-Fi is available if needed)

If you want the ultimate indulgence, the Hillside Pool Suites offer infinity pools with panoramic ocean views.

Dining: Fresh, Gourmet, and All-Inclusive

One of the highlights of my stay was the food. Unlike typical all-inclusive resorts with buffets, Hermitage Bay focuses on farm-to-table dining with ever-changing menus.

Restaurants & Dining Experience:

  • The Restaurant: Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a daily-changing menu. The coconut-crusted snapper was a standout!
  • Beachfront Dining: Romantic private dinners on the sand (perfect for honeymooners)
  • Fresh juices & cocktails: The bartenders craft amazing rum-based drinks—try the Antiguan Smile!

Everything is included (even premium spirits), so no surprise bills at checkout.

Activities & Relaxation

Whether you're an adventure seeker or just want to unwind, Hermitage Bay has something for everyone.

What to Do:

  • Snorkeling & Kayaking (complimentary)
  • Yoga on the beach (free morning sessions)
  • Spa treatments (their bamboo massage is heavenly)
  • Excursions (like a private boat trip to Shirley Heights)

I spent most of my time lounging on the powdery white sand, cocktail in hand, with no crowds in sight.

Service: Impeccable & Personalized

The staff at Hermitage Bay truly makes the experience special. They remember your name, preferences, and go out of their way to make your stay perfect. Whether it was arranging a surprise sunset dinner or recommending the best snorkeling spots, their attention to detail was impressive.

Is Hermitage Bay Worth It? Final Thoughts

Pros:
✔️ Ultra-private, romantic setting
✔️ Stunning beachfront suites
✔️ Exceptional gourmet dining
✔️ All-inclusive without the crowds

Cons:
❌ Expensive (but worth it for a special occasion)
❌ Remote location (great for seclusion, but not ideal if you want nightlife)

My rating of Hermitage Bay, Antigua

After spending an unforgettable stay at Hermitage Bay, I’m giving it a well-deserved 9.5/10. Here’s my breakdown:

Overall Experience: 9.5/10

One of the best luxury resorts I’ve visited—pristine, intimate, and flawlessly executed. The only reason it’s not a perfect 10 is that it’s quite expensive (but you get what you pay for).

🏨 Accommodations: 10/10

The beachfront suites are stunning, blending nature with luxury. The outdoor showers, private decks, and direct beach access make it a dream stay.

🍽️ Dining: 9.5/10

Gourmet, fresh, and creative—far beyond typical all-inclusive fare. The only minor downside? If you’re a picky eater, the daily-changing menu might limit options.

🌊 Beach & Location: 10/10

A secluded, postcard-perfect bay with soft white sand and crystal-clear water. No crowds, no vendors—just pure relaxation.

💆 Spa & Wellness: 9/10

The spa treatments were fantastic, but I wish there were more included wellness activities beyond yoga (like guided meditation or fitness classes).

👑 Service: 10/10

Impeccable. The staff anticipates your needs without being intrusive—true five-star service.

💰 Value for Money: 8.5/10

It’s undeniably pricey, but the exclusivity, privacy, and all-inclusive luxury justify the cost for a special occasion.
